Pray for America

The President of this nation has endorsed what God calls an abomination...homosexual marriage. In reality, there is no such thing as homosexual marriage. Those who are in Christ know the covenant of marriage was instituted by Almighty God in Genesis 2:24 as being between a man and a woman.  Any attempt to twist God's ordained covenant is not recognized by Him and will only enhance the wrath that looms over this nation. That being said, it is impossible for same sex couples to be united in the biblical covenant of marriage, it is equally impossible for them to consummate the marriage. When the leadership of a nation is corrupt, you know we aren't far from the severest of wrath, which is why I entitled this post 'pray for America'.
Mortal men simply cannot change what God has ordained and declared to be true, those who do so only ensure swift judgment upon themselves. I am not concerned what the President deems as 'okay', nor am I worried about what the Government stamps their seal of approval on; what does cause me great concern is how much longer will God continue to allow this nation to continue in its current decayed state before He unleashes His white hot wrath on America. When judgment is unleashed {I am not talking about the wrath of abandonment, which we presently are under} it will be severe; this causes me great concern. I have loved ones who are dead in sin, even the very sin mentioned here...homosexuality. BUT, I trust in the Lord, for He is good. I have neighbors and co-workers who are dead in sin so intercessory prayer is a must; far be if for us to fail to pray for the lost.
We who belong to Him must pray for one another; as society continues on the downward spiral, you know it's just a matter of time before we face persecution and possible martyrdom.  We must get on our knees and cry out to the God of all mankind, pleading with Him for mercy.  Time is NOT on our side and should be considered precious. I know I am guilty of wasting time, thinking I have tomorrow to do this or that. My life is a vapor, why do I not get that?!? One day we will stand before Him and give an account for how we spent our time, among other things. I am afraid I will hang my head in shame on that one.

Things for those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in truth to remember as the hour of persecution draws near:
"I will never leave you nor forsake you." Heb. 13:5
"Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution" 2Tim.3:12.
"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matt.5:10
"We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in dispair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed---always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 2Cor. 4:8-11.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Eventhough our outward body is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day." 2Cor. 4:16.
"Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse." Rom. 12:14.
There are so many Scriptures that would apply here like Rom.8:35-39 and the entire book of Ephesians, Rev. 20:4. This is barely touching all the verses of comfort in troubled times that our Lord has seen fit to leave with us.
1Peter 5:6&7; "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."

Thanks for bringing all this to mind Darrel, it would be very good to memorize as much of these as possible so they can be brought to mind when persecution breaks out here in America.
Let us pray for one another, we need each other and we need our Lord to see us through.
